ABOUT THIS WORKSHOP

Meteor Showers are one of the most beautiful displays you can witness while outside at night. You seem to never forget those times you see flying through the atmosphere at speeds sometimes upwards of 100,000mph. The Taurids in November are well known their their slow moving "Fireballs". There fireballs are slow moving and very bright. I have seen some of these meteors explode in the air turning night into day for a split second.

We will spend 1 whole night camping out on Assateague Island National Seashore in search for the fading milky way, star trails and taurid meteors. We will meet Friday evening and shoot overnight into the wee hours of Saturday morning. The option for Saturday night is no longer available, if you wish to join the single night workshop, please email me at ( workshops@jeffberkesphotography.com )

WEATHER

Weather can be unpredictable as we all know.  We will still battle through the weather and learn a lot about night sky shooting and our cameras. We will be camping outside the from Friday through Sunday morning. We will sleep in tents on the beach, if you do not have a tent, I may be able to supply you with one. Early November is the time of year where the seasons are changing. The temperature could be cold, or warm, we wont know for sure until the week before. But if we are there to try, we will never know what we missed out on.

LODGING

We will beach camp on Assateague Island National Seashore. I will be reserving a few tent sites for the group. This is a meteor adventure and a great outdoor experience in a place I have been visiting for over 15 years. If you wish to find a hotel to stay in during the day, the closest town is Ocean City, Maryland about 25 minutes north of the island, since we will be giving it our all most of the night for the meteor shower any cat naps can be taken in our cars or campsites.
