ABOUT THIS WORKSHOP
This 3 day, 2 night, workshop will be held in one of the most sought after locations by night sky photographers. It's rock formations, natural arches are accompanied by dark night skies that make this one special spot for landscape astrophotographers. This workshop will take place during the work week where we will avoid a majority of the crowds and with it being a tad early in the season, helps us avoid interference with the weekend warriors. We will be up most of the nights out capturing star trails, timelapse and milky way photographs with the arches and other rock formations in the park. We will practice how to use our camera to it's maximum potential under a variety of lighting conditions. Simple camera settings increase your image quality that you may not be aware of. Many clients tell me that their pictures are ready to print right out of the camera, and that is what we are looking for, great images straight out of the camera. The camera is an amazing tool, and a tool that isn't used to it maximum capability most of the time. This is a great place to utilize our cameras and our imagination. We can also have a great time while doing that.
WHAT YOU WILL SEE
MOON PHASE - NEW MOON
The Moon will be in the "New Moon" Phase giving us completely dark skies most of the night.

We will stay in Moab, UT. I have stayed at the Big Horn Lodge before and it suites me just fine, and I love the look. There are many places to choose from like Comfort Inn, Days Inn, Best Western and many more. I would suggest avoiding the Ramada Inn if it is still there, I gave it a rating of 0.
A full list of camera gear will be supplied to upon registering, the basics are a DSLR camera , wide/fast angle lens, a tripod and a cable release. Please check our the Workshop Overview Page for more info on equipment and suggested gear.
