ABOUT THIS WORKSHOP
This workshop will take place in the beautiful Outer Banks of North Carolina. We will have the opportunity to photograph some iconic landmarks of the OBX during our stay. On this workshop we will capture star trails, the milky way, timelapse videos, night sky panoramas, and you will learn how star trackers work with astrophotography. We will also be here to view and photograph the annual ETA Aquarid Meteor Shower which peaks during this workshop. We will visit various locations for milky way photography each night along the beaches, sand dunes, lighthouses, and other special locations along the way.
The daytime hours will be spent catching up on some sleep, downloading your images and recharging our inner batteries, and camera batteries! If interesting weather is around during the day like thunderstorm activity, will may also opt to throw in some storm chasing to capture the dramatic weather at the coastal locations. Flexibility is key! Video tutorials are also available to help you with my simple editing techniques for your night sky images.

WEATHER
A weather outlook email will be sent to all registered participants leading up to the workshop. Clouds or no clouds the workshop will still be run as usual, there are so many photographic opportunities to explore in any type of weather. A thunderstorm may sound bad, but a lighthouse with a huge lightning bolt and the milky way is another beautiful creature in itself. Be prepared for anything! We have 3 nights to work with. Day time temperatures are typically in the low to mid 80s and 60's at night.

LODGING
You can make sleeping arrangements near Bodie Island Lighthouse the first 2 nights and near Cape Hatteras the last night. You could also choose a spot in between these locations.
