ABOUT THIS WORKSHOP
Join me in one of the most fascinating places in America, the Desert Southwest. Stunning rock formations and alien like landscapes give us dramatic subjects for both daylight and night sky photography. The following morning we will make our way towards Page, Arizona, a short but beautiful drive to the west. We will visit multiple locations including the Monument Valley, Gooseneck State Park, Vermillion Cliffs / Cliff Dwellers, Horseshoe Bend, Lower Antelope Canyon, Lake Powell, Stud Horse Point and a few others during our trip. We won't leave many rocks unturned shooting every sunrise, sunset and night sky photo opportunity during our trip. April 1st will be in Monument Valley, April 2-4th will be based out of Page, Arizona. The workshop will end April 4th, 2017 by 10:00am.
WORKSHOP INCLUDES
- Milky Way , Star Trail and light painting techniques
- Monument Valley, Horseshoe Bend, Antelope Canyon, Glen Canyon Vermillion Cliffs, Stud Horse Point and others
- Several shooting locations and each night will have different locations
- How to plan your shot and where to look for the Milky Way
- Understanding, shutter speed, f/stop, ISO, white balance and other custom settings to maximize your results
- How to illuminate a scene for timelapse photography at night
- Demonstrate and shoot time-lapse photography
- Sunrise, Sunset, Night Sky and Post Processing Tips and Techniques
- Snacks and Bottles of water

WEATHER
Weather is typically very pleasant with temps in the 70's and 80's with clear skies!
TRAVELING
You can fly into a number of places including, Durango, Colorado / Las Vegas, NV or Phoenix, AZ. We have the opportunity to go off road to some amazing places. SUV's are the only safe way to get there. A SUV is required for this trip, but we should be able to carpool if need be. Please let me know if a SUV was not available for you to rent.
This workshop does not include travel to, from and during the workshop, meals or overnight accommodations.
LODGING
First night we will shoot most of the night so our car will become our hotel for the night or you can get a room at the "The View" Hotel at Monument Valley! I will most likely get a room at "The View". If you would like to split a room with someone please let me know. The remaining nights will be spent in Page, Arizona. They have many hotels and motels there to choose from like The Best Western We will also spend an entire night out in Page at nearby rock formations to watch the milky way rise over the horizon at Stud Horse Point. If you like to camp, you can get a campsite on Lake Powell at Lone Rock Campground. Lone Rock campsites can not be reserved but their is plenty of space there to camp for $14.00 a night per car.
CAMERA GEAR
A full list of camera gear will be supplied to upon registering, the basics are a DSLR camera , wide/fast angle lens, a tripod and a cable release

Jeff Berkes Photography reserves the right to make changes to the schedule, dates if need be. We are not responsible for bad weather, delays or cancellations. We are also not responsible for lost or stolen items, injuries, sickness, death or damages to personal equipment and lost of personal travel expense. Failure to comply to park rules, regulations and will result in you being ejected from the workshop.
