ABOUT THIS WORKSHOP

Witness Colorado as it begins to change seasons. We will experience the beauty of the night sky while being surrounded by the sights and sounds of southwestern Colorado. The aspen trees will begin to turn yellow giving us great contrast against the snow capped mountains and rich blue skies over the San Juan Mountains. We will learn to master the art of night sky photography and photography in general. These workshops are geared to get you comfortable with your camera, shooting at night in the dark, and also landscapes and a variety of other lighting conditions. We will also have field critiques, demonstrations and one on one shooting time during the workshop.

You can expect to see a variety of excellent photo opportunities on this tour such as multiple ghost towns, fall colors, wildlife, the Milky Way and much more. We will not be up all night, every night shooting. Rest is an important factor with keeping your thought process sharp and beating able to pay attention to detail and imagine.

TRAVELING

You can fly into a number of places including, Durango, Grand Junction or Denver, Colorado. The entire workshop will be conducted within a 28 mile radius from Ridgway. However, many of  the locations are just a 15 minute drive or less. You will need to rent a 4x4 or AWD SUV vehicle for some periods of unpaved mountain roads and there is always a slight chance of the seasons first snowfall. (You don't need to be an excellent driver to drive on these roads.) Just gives you a little more clearance.

This workshop does not include travel to, from or during the workshop, meals or overnight accommodations. Participants can always carpool during the workshop too!

LODGING

Lodging should be made in Ridgway, Colorado. I have stayed at the Ridgway Lodge and Suites and it works perfectly. If you need suggestions for hotels outside of Ridgway, I know a few spots in Ouray to stay , either town is fine.,
