ABOUT THIS WORKSHOP
Welcome to Death Valley! Death Valley is a recognized International Dark Sky Park located in the remote area of eastern California about 100 miles west of Las Vegas, Nevada. We will enjoy 4 days and 3 nights under the moonlit landscapes of Death Valley National Park. Even though the milky way will not be visible during our time here due to the moonlit skies, we are open to lots of rare opportunities inside the park that rarely get attention in a new light. We will shoot from multiple locations at night with in depth discussions on composition, exposure, planning out shots out and post processing your images. We will also have time to double back to some locations to catch them in a different light. Video tutorials are also including in this workshop for your reference to editing after the workshop is over. I have camped here nearly 70 nights in the last few years, and this might be my most favorite park of them all. Furnace Creek pictured below) was recently renovated at the end of 2018 and it is surely is an oasis. Come experience the dramatic alien-like landscapes for yourself! Hope to see you there!
Furnace Creek, Death Valley
There are so many amazing places in Death Valley to photograph at night, and during the day. We will certainly take full advantage of them while we are here. In addition to the night sky photography we will also be out to capture the amazing views during sunset and sunrise. Some locations include the elusive Death Valley mudcracks, Zabriskie Point, Dante's View, Badwater Basin, Mesquite Sand Dunes, Artists Drive and many more.

WEATHER
Death Valley is the driest place in the US. Conditions are usually always clear and warm during the day in late October with comfortable nights and lots of amazing photo ops day and night. Temperatures in October can range from the 80s to 90s. Be prepared!

LODGING
There are a few options for sleeping arrangements. There are a couple of places in Furnace Creek Resort and a few rooms in Stovepipe wells for you to enjoy. If you wish to camp there are plenty of campsites at Furnace Creek and some rustic sites at Stovepipe wells. If you like to camp, I would prefer Furnace Creek Campground around $20/night. Stovepipe Wells camping is $12/night but Furnace Creek has some shade sites. I will most likely be camping myself. It is one of my favorite campgrounds in the US! Please make your reservations well in advance.
