ABOUT THIS WORKSHOP
This workshop will teach you everything you need to know about how to take great photographs of the milky way, stars and meteor showers. We will also cover star trails, timelapse photography and light painting. The workshop will start before sunset and last well into the wee hours in the morning. We typically call it a night around 2:00 am.There is no shortage of photo locations to shoot from here. This is why I have spent over 70 nights camping on this island. The night skies never let disappoint and they always offer me something new and beautiful.
If you wish to camp here (which i strongly suggest for that island experience) you will need to book these sites early... 6 months early to be sure you have a spot. With that said, peoples plans change over the months, weeks and even days leading up to your date, so keep checking back for sites to open up if none are available when you look.

LODGING
Lodging can be found near Ocean City, Maryland or by camping on Assateague Island itself (pictured above). Reservations book far in advance. You can also car camp in the overflow parking lot if you wish, but these campsites are incredible. I have done it dozens of times, just can't get enough of it! We will be photographing the Maryland District of Assateague.

CAMERA GEAR
A full list of camera gear will be supplied to upon registering, the basics are a DSLR camera , wide/fast angle lens, a tripod and a cable release. Most gear that is used can be found on the workshop overview page.
