ABOUT THIS WORKSHOP
Death Valley is a recognized International Dark Sky Park located in the remote area of eastern California about 100 miles west of Las Vegas, NV. We will enjoy 7 days and 6 nights with the milky way and thousands upon thousands of stars in addition to amazing landscapes along the way. You will learn where and when to find the milky way during each month of the year! We shoot from dozens of locations at night with in depth discussions on composition, light painting, post processing your images and much more.
We will start off in eastern sierras for a few days before making out way to Death Valley where we will spend the remaining days and nights capturing the alien-like landscapes and more night sky photograph and timelapse. We will spend a couple of nights in each location to give us time and flexibility. I find that time and flexibility are the most important things, 24 hours can make a huge difference in weather and in light.
There are so many amazing places during this trip to photograph at night and during the day, we will certainly take full advantage of them while we are there. We will also set out to capture dramatic sunsets over snow capped mountains, tall desert sand dunes, Mobius Arch and much more. This is one wild adventure you do not want to miss out on. All alumni receive 20% off this trip. The possibilities are endless here. We may have some time to spend at Mono Lake one night as well depending on the weather!

WEATHER
Death Valley is the driest place in the US, but winter months bring some of the only rain of the year. Conditions are usually always clear and warm during the day and cooler at night. It's perfect!
LODGING
There are a few options for sleeping arrangements. There are a couple of places in Furnace Creek Resort and a few rooms in Stovepipe wells for you to enjoy. If you wish to camp there are plenty of campsites at Furnace Creek and some rustic sites at Stovepipe wells. If you like to camp, I would prefer Furnace Creek Campground around $20/night. Stovepipe Wells camping is $12/night but Furnace Creek has some shade sites. I will most likely be camping myself. It is one of my favorite campgrounds in the US! Please make your reservations well in advance.
