ABOUT THIS WORKSHOP
The first time I arrived in Cannon Beach, Oregon, my mind was blown away. It is simply one of the most beautiful spots in the Pacific Northwest, and I'm really looking forward to conducting a workshop here in 2022! With stunning coastlines, waterfalls, dark skies, wildlife, shipwrecks and amazing sunsets this makes for one amazing place to photography day or night. Our original workshop here was postponed due to covid in 2022, but we will be coming back next year and we will have some generous gifts for all participants who attend. The comeback is always greater than the setback!
A few years ago, I became the first person to capture bioluminescent plankton glowing around Haystack Rock with the Milky Way. Not only could I see it in the waves, but also in the pools and on the sand. My footsteps would glow blue along the water's edge and when I wanted to warm up my feet I would just walk over to my beach fire for a little bit. I can't say that the conditions will be the same, but there is only one way to find out. We will photograph many places including Haystack Rock, Ecola State Park, Hug Point and Cape of Arches during sunrise, sunset and at night with the Milky Way. This workshop also includes a beach fire at sunset at Haystack Rock, so bring your wine and enjoy the views. We will spend time in the tide pools along the beach searching for starfis, giants crabs and other wildlife. Eagles and Puffins are often seen here as well.

WORKSHOP INCLUDES
TRAVELING
I would suggest flying into Portland, Oregon where you will have about a 1hr 35 minute drive to the coast. You could also fly into Seattle. Seattle is a longer drive, but you could see a bunch of neat sights along the way down, including the stunning Mount. Rainier! This workshop does not include travel to, from and during the workshop, meals or overnight accommodations.
EVENING TIDE
LODGING
All shooting locations are within 15/20 minutes of Cannon Beach, Oregon. There is one place that is about 40 minutes depending on time we can check it out. The Hallmark Resort is a beautiful place to stay and it the closest to haystack rock and I suggest staying here if you can.
