ABOUT THIS WORKSHOP
This workshop will explore some of the most scenic locations on Assateague Island for the Quadrantid Meteor Shower. This meteor puts on a stellar show on the peak night with up to and over 200 meteor per hour. I have seen hundreds of meteor in a single night with this shower and it will be an amazing way to ring in 2022.
I will have a group campsite reserved on the island for the night (which is included in the workshop) If you would like to camp with us, please do! It's is encouraged! Beach camping is one of the best parts of this experience, you really feel connected to the island after spending a night out there. There are a number of hotels in nearby Ocean City, MD for you to choose from if you wish to get a room there and warm up after the workshop ends early on the morning of January 4th, 2022.

WEATHER
Weather can be unpredictable as we all know. We will still battle through the weather and learn a lot about night sky shooting and our cameras. During the winter months it can be cold so make sure you have the appropriate cold weather gear with you. We will often take a break for any cold by warming up in the cars while our camera's do some work. I will also have wood handy to building a fire to keep up warm at our campsite a fire on the beach.

LODGING
Lodging can be found in Ocean City, MD or Berlin, MD. A group campsite will also be available free of charge for anyone who wishes to camp the night!

CAMERA GEAR
A full list of camera gear will be supplied to upon registering, the basics are a DSLR camera , wide/fast angle lens, a tripod and a cable release. Cold weather will drain batteries much faster so brining multiple batteries is a great idea.. I suggest to have at least 2 batteries... having 3 batteries is much better. When the first battery dies, you can start charging so that when the last battery is exhausted, you can pop in the freshly charged battery.
DEPOSIT
A non-refundable deposit is due to reserve your spot on the trip. If you are a JBP Alumni you receive 20% OFF the ticket price. If you have to cancel for any reason, you will be issued the amount paid to a future workshop, no cash refunds once the payment has been accepted. Workshop Credit is good for 2 years after your initial payment. Paypal transaction fees may apply for online payments.

Jeff Berkes Photography reserves the right to make changes to the schedule, dates if need be. We are not responsible for bad weather, delays or cancellations. We are also not responsible for lost or stolen items, injuries, sickness, death or damages to personal equipment and lost of personal travel expense. Failure to comply to park rules, regulations and will result in you being ejected from the workshop. If the weather happens to be poor this night and we can not see any stars we will do as much shooting and instruction as we can. If it rains or snows and washes out the workshop, you can use your workshop credit towards any future workshop with us.

This workshop does not include travel to, from and during the workshop, meals. Camping is included in the tour, please let us know when you register that you would like to camp with us.
