ABOUT THIS WORKSHOP
This 5 day, 4 night workshop will be held in some of the most sought after locations by night sky photographers. It's rock formations and stunning vistas are accompanied by dark night skies that make these very special spots for landscape and night sky photographers. This workshop will take place during the work-week where we will avoid a majority of the weekend warriors. We will be up most of the night out capturing star trails, timelapse and milky way photographs. We will learn how to use our camera's to their maximum potential under a variety of lighting conditions. Simple camera settings can increase your image quality that you may not be aware of in addition to post processing techniques. Many clients tell me that their pictures are ready to print right out of the camera with minimal post production work, and that is what we are looking for, great images straight out of the camera. The camera is an amazing tool, and a tool that isn't used to it maximum capability most of the time. This is a great place to utilize our cameras and our imagination. We can also have a great time while doing that. Processing your images are very important as well, it's a multi phase process which you will learn to master during this workshop and receive video tutorials to help you along the way.
Most locations are just beyond the roadside and parking areas so there is no worry about long hikes. Let me know if you think any pre existing health conditions could be an issue during this workshop In 2017, Light painting is no longer allowed in Arches National Park. Our light painting demonstrations will be done outside of the Arches NP at Dead Horse State Park and at Goblin Valley. Arches National Park is not on the list, be we will be right next to it and also Canyonlands National Park within a stones throw. we will have time to explore these locations on our own as well.

We will stay in Moab, UT. I have stayed at the Big Horn Lodge before and it suites me just fine, and I love the look. There are many places to choose from like Comfort Inn, Days Inn, Best Western, Red Stone Inn and many others. Moab is a "happening" little town with lots of places to eat, shops and things to do.
