ABOUT THIS WORKSHOP
This workshop will teach you everything you need to know about how to take great photographs of the milky way, stars and meteor showers. We will also cover star trails, time-lapse photography and light painting and go over how to set up and use star trackers. The workshop will start at before sunset and last into the wee hours in the morning. We typically call it a night around 4:00 am with a break scheduled overnight in our cars. If we have poor sky conditions towards the beginning of the workshop, we will shoot later into the night to maximize our shooting experience. There is no shortage of photo locations to shoot from and we will be able to shoot under both moonlight and no moon to help you understand, and perfect the art of night sky photography. This workshops will be conducted in the Maryland District of Assateague Island.
Random meteors fly through the sky every night and we will see a few over the course of the weekend.

LODGING
Lodging can be found near Ocean City, Maryland or by camping on Assateague Island itself (pictured above). Reservations book far in advance for camping. The earlier you register the better! You can also car camp in the overflow parking lot if you wish, but these campsites are incredible. I have done it dozens of times, just can't get enough of it! We will be photographing the Maryland District of Assateague. I will try to book a group campsite for us to all use, if I can secure one, you will have a place to tent camp for free.

CAMERA GEAR
A full list of camera gear will be supplied to upon registering, the basics are a DSLR camera , wide/fast angle lens, a tripod and a cable release. Most gear that is used can be found on the workshop overview page.
