ABOUT THIS WORKSHOP
Are you ready for an adventure, and experience Vermont in Autumn? Then this workshop is for you! New England in October is one of my favorite places to be during the fall season, there is a reason why I have photographed this area in autumn 17 times over the last 22 years. The amazingly bright reds, yellows, oranges, and even some purples seem to glow so much brighter here than anywhere else. Vermont has the largest gathering of maple trees in the world making almost impossible to not see color around every turn. We will spend 5 days exploring many areas in Vermont. We will make daily drives to where the colors are the best, so we will be on the road for a good portion of each day. We will have scenic drives each day photographing covered bridges, farms, waterfalls, grist mills and waterways amongst the fall colors. I have made 17 trips to Vermont over the years and I can never get enough of it. We will cover area's from Southern Vermont all the way up into Northern areas of Vermont chasing the colors and the amazing photo opportunities that await us. Typically, we make over 30 stops during this workshop, and you will return home with a beautiful and quite diverse portfolio from this adventure. I am looking forward to seeing you out on the 2024 Jeff Berkes Fall Color Experience in Vermont. Let the adventure begin!
WORKSHOP ADD-ON OPTION
The Vermont Workshop ends on the morning of the 14th and the Fingers Lakes Workshop starts the afternoon/ evening of the 14th and ends by noon on the 16th, 2023. During this workshop we will chase fall colors, with waterfalls, old buildings and barns and so much more. We will keep the evenings open for sunset shots and any night sky photo ops. There is the potential for a large comet to be visible during this trip, and it is a good time to look for the northern lights as well. This workshop is dedicated to waterfalls and fall colors, but if you know me, the night stuff is always on the table! More info coming soon!
We will spend the first two nights in the lovely town of Manchester, VT. After 2 nights here, we will venture north towards Cabot, VT for a night before ending up back in Manchester Center, VT and stay the final night there.
AUTUMN RIVER
There are many covered bridges in Vermont to say the least. Waterfalls and Grist Mills also pepper the landscape, and many ponds and lakes are surrounded by beautiful fall colors. We will be able to use our drones where permitted to capture the landscape from above in a variety of locations as well. We will also take advantage of photographing some of these locations at night under moonlit skies. Due to this far northern location we may even get lucky with some northern lights a one night. The moon will set around midnight giving us darker skies if lady aurora shows up!
AUTUMN REFLECTIONS | VERMONT POND
Manchester Center will be out meeting location for our first day and we will spend two nights there, The third day we will make our way into northern Vermont taking some amazing scenic drives past farms, covered bridges and waterfalls along our way. The drive up will reveal where the best colors are and we will concentrate in those area's the remaining days after visiting some scenic area's up north. Most of our days will be spent out in the field driving to different locations and visiting quaint country towns with fall colors exploding around every turn. We will get a taste of the entire state and will be rewarded with some of the best fall colors opportunities in Vermont. Vermont is not that big, so we can cover lots of ground in just a short period of time.
