ABOUT THIS WORKSHOP
This workshop will teach you everything you need to know about how to take great photographs of the milky way, stars and meteor showers. We will also cover star trails, timelapse photography and light painting. The workshop will start in the afternoon of November 17th search for Eagles, Hawks and Owls around sunset, and then continue until sunrise on the morning of the November 18th, 2026. I will have two-star trackers for our group to share overnight!
The Leonid's provide a modest display. Rates can exceed 25 meteor per hour with a hand full of some bright fireballs! In the 1990's there were reports of thousands per hour, sometimes this show can over deliver, but expect to see between 20-40/hr at its peak! I have viewed this meteor shower in Florida, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, New York, and Maryland, it has never let me down! Here are some samples of meteor photos from New Jersey and Maryland!

LODGING
We will be out most of the night, so a room won't come in handy overnight. The closest location with a hotel room is in Millville, NJ only about 25 minutes away!

CAMERA GEAR
A full list of camera gear will be supplied to upon registering, the basics are a DSLR camera , wide/fast angle lens, a tripod and a cable release. Most gear that is used can be found on the workshop overview page.

A non-refundable deposit is due to reserve your spot on the trip. If you are a JBP Alumni you receive 20% OFF the ticket price. If you have to cancel for any reason, you will be issued the amount paid to a future workshop in workshop credit. No cash refunds once the payment has been accepted.
